The Role

With solid growth in the quality and reputation of the College in the local community, student numbers, organisational capacity and facilities are rapidly expanding. Caloundra Christian College is excited to be seeking expressions of interest for the role of Head of STEM commencing prior to the start of the 2022 school year.

The Head of STEM role is suited to an experienced Maths and/or Science teacher who can support Engineering and Technology.

You will

  • lead others with a servant heart seeking to model professional learning, quality teaching practices and a willingness to learn.
  • facilitate purposeful and engaging curriculum and assessment
  • facilitate and foster student engagement and achievement
  • actively contribute to policy and strategic development,
  • build and maintain productive, professional relationship
  • manage resources appropriately.

Statement of Faith

Student Counsellor - Part-time (2-3 days per week)

Caloundra Christian College is a Pre-Kindy to Year 12 independent Christian school on the Sunshine Coast. We are a team of committed educators and support personnel who fundamentally believe that students learn best when they feel safe, respected, and are genuinely engaged and challenged by purposeful, creative, differentiated opportunities to learn about themselves and the impact they can make in the world they live in.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate College Counsellor to promote and facilitate emotional health and well-being in our students to commence in Term 4 or can be negotiated for mid-January 2022. An integral member of the Wellbeing Team, the Counsellor will provide personal counselling, welfare support and referral to outside support agencies for students and families, consulting with teachers, parents/carers, and external agencies to assist students in their emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Supporting the mission, vision and values of the College, the College Counsellor reports directly to the Principal and works closely with our Executive Team, Year Level Coordinators and Chaplains.

  • have experience working with young people

Position Description –  Student Counsellor

Head of Primary

We are a team of committed educators and support personnel who fundamentally believe that students learn best when they feel safe, respected, and are genuinely engaged and challenged by purposeful, creative, differentiated opportunities to learn about themselves and the impact they can make in the world they live in.

The Role

With solid growth in the quality and reputation of the College in the local community, student numbers, organisational capacity and facilities are rapidly expanding. Caloundra Christian College is excited to be seeking expressions of interest for the role of Head of Primary commencing at the start of the 2022 school year. This position will be 0.4 FTE Head of Primary and 0.6 FTE teaching.

As a strategic and relational person, the Head of Primary will oversee and empower the Primary staff to enable Primary students to flourish through quality Christ-centred education, intentional pastoral care and connected community. The Head of Primary will work closely with the Principal and Executive or (Leadership) Team. 

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated ability to be responsible for the everyday operation and development of the Primary School.
  • An ability to work closely with the Principal and other College leaders to lead, initiate and contribute to designing, developing, and articulating the strategic direction for the school.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development and oversight of teaching and learning.
  • A deep understanding of a Biblical Worldview.
  • Ability to promote active collegial discussion about pedagogy and practices.
  • Ability to ensure the implementation and effectiveness of the Pastoral Care program within the Primary School.
  • Demonstrated ability in the delivery and leadership of quality teaching practices based on evidenced-based research.
  • Well-developed communication, administration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of administrative skills to facilitate the operations of a Primary College.
  • Applicants must be registered with the Qld College of Teachers. 
  • Applicants need to be practising Christians, who are active in their own churches and whole-heartedly subscribe to the Statement of Faith found on our website.

Position Description – Head of Primary

Kindergarten Teacher - Short-term Contract / Relief

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified Early Childhood teacher who is passionate about being responsible for the holistic care and growth of children. This includes actively engaging in the learning, social emotional and spiritual care, and the wellbeing of the children. This is a casual position for relief work with a potential full-time short contract (6-8weeks).
